At present we have two Children’s Choirs at First Presbyterian:

The Sonshiners is for Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd graders. They rehearse Wednesdays at 4:30 as a part of our LOGOS program that runs concurrent with the school year. They sing several times a year for the Sunday Morning Worship Service. They study music reading using the Kodaly Method. They utilize rhythm instruments and bell plates. They sing seasonal songs also.

The Kids of the Kingdom is the choir for 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders. They also rehearse Wednesdays at 4:30 PM as a part of our LOGOS program. This choir sings once a month for the Sunday Morning Worship Service during the school year. They utilize Orff instruments, recorders, rhythm instruments, and hand chimes. We also study the seasons of the Church Year and their meaning.
