Traditional Worship
At First Presbyterian Church, we are proud of our Reformed tradition and Presbyterian heritage, and we strive to provide an uplifting and challenging worship experience. Our hope and prayer is that God’s Spirit will bless you during this service in a meaningful and life-changing way.
Our Sunday Morning Traditional Service is conducted at 10:45 a.m. in the sanctuary. It is for those who prefer a more conventional, formal service. The pastors and the choir wear robes. Music is provided by the choir and organ. The FPC Brass, Woodwinds, and Strings rotate Sundays. Most of the music is in the form of traditional anthems, but there is some contemporary music as well. Holy Communion is celebrated the first Sunday of each month during the morning worship service. Nursery is provided and Children and Worship is offered for children ages 3 - 1st grade.
Our Book of Order describes worship:
“Christian worship joyfully ascribes all praise and honor, glory and power to the triune God. In worship the people of God acknowledge God is present in the world and in their lives. As they respond to God’s claim and redemptive action in Jesus Christ, believers are transformed and renewed. In worship the faithful offer themselves to God and are equipped for God’s service in the world."
Our prayer is that your experience of worship may be enriched by a deeper understanding of our service.
